This is the ultimate Ohio engagement pictures location list. I’m a wedding and engagement photographer in Ohio and I’m always looking for the best, most unique locations for my couples. Most people have the idea that certain locations are a bit oversaturated, and they are, but every new location looks a little different from season to season and photographer to photographer and even style vs style.

I like to think that, as a photographer in Ohio, we have to perfect our craft a little more than your average photographer anywhere else in the world because we don’t have easy access to naturally beautiful landscapes that are not cornfields and rolling hills. This doesn’t mean that I don’t love and appreciate my home state, because I do, but we have to work extra hard to make each session unique. But I’m always up for a challenge and each session pushes me creatively. So here is a list of my favorite locations for your engagement session, but perhaps you could use these locations for other types of photoshoots too, like family pictures.
The Overlook @ Brandywine Grove – Sugarcreek, Ohio
Brandywine Grove is a new Airbnb that was opened up in Sugarcreek, Ohio and I love all of the beautiful touches inside and out. My favorite part is by far the huge windows that are located in both bedrooms.
I can’t help but love an industrial setting that I have easy access to. It’s always a good change from the trees and rolling hills.
Norma Johnson Center – Dover Ohio
This is a staple for photographers in Tuscarawas County because it is open to the public. It’s ever-changing fields and hills and unique spots make it a prime location. Because there are acres on acres of options, it’s pretty easy to slide in here for photos.
I would always choose to go to Mexico or Florida beaches, but here in Ohio, the lake beaches for an engagement session will just have to do. I think it’s a pretty good location for an Ohio engagement session.
Downtown Dover, Ohio – Dover, Ohio
Dover is my hometown, but I can’t say that I saw the true beauty in it until I became an adult. There are a variety of photo opportunities here and it gives such a small town vibe. I love it!
Niche + Nourish Studio – New Philadelphia, Ohio
I’m a little bias because I own this studio with Katie Finnicum, but in Ohio, we have to deal with many months of cold and tough weather for photographers, so having an indoor location option is important. This studio is open and available to all photographers in Tuscarawas County and surrounding. It’s located in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Salt Fork Lake – Lore City, Ohio
Another beach because I’m always dreaming of the sand in my toes and the wind in my hair. Okay, it’s Ohio so it isn’t that dramatic, but hey, if you want a huge beach all to yourself, this is it!
Park Street Pizza – Sugarcreek, Ohio
Have you ever considered doing something super unique for your engagement pictures? Like stuffing your face with the most delicious pizza in the county.. 10/10 recommend!
